Rolling up is about learning how to use your core strength and flexibility, as well as organizing your body to use balance and weight to your advantage. In this 2 and a half hour long workshop, we begin on the ground, and learn a progression of exercises to which will break down the technique to roll up the rope. Rope and harness is just what it sounds like. You’re wearing a harness attached to one or two ropes from the front, back or sides. Access to the floor and partnering explorations offer myriad and exciting options for unique and wildly fun sequences and phrases. Cloud Swing Workshop

This apparatus melds the worlds of two point static trapeze with vertical rope and offers many of its own unique elements of movement as well. We will reviewing familiar poses and transitions from trapeze and rope and explore new ones on the cloud swing. This class will start you thinking in a new way about the basics and how they translate to different apparatuses and perhaps see the standards with new eyes and ideas.

Beats and Small Drops with Sadie LeDonna

We will begin to explore momentum with beats as our focus. We’ll work on technique, lines and efficiency as well as look at some ways to use beats to add ease to existing repertoire. Then, time permitting, we’ll work on some fun small drops, or, as I like to call them, punctuation drops.

Intro to Aerial Straps with Aaron Koz

This workshop will focus on the fundamental techniques for safe and effective training of aerial straps, though most exercises will greatly increase your power and control on other apparatus. We will warm up our shoulders and core using a set of exercises designed to pre-habilitate and strengthen the shoulders. The fundamental skills students will cover are transitions and static positions (meathook, inverted straddle, nutcracker) on both arms, and potentially 1 arm. The end of the workshop will focus on 2 and 1-arm spinning using the dynamic technique of flares to invert to different positions.

Everyone (well, maybe not everyone) wants a handstand press (straddle, pike, side, or split). This workshop will cover the theory and practice needed to progress over time and gain a press handstand.
