How Much: $150
For this class you don’t need to have experience in cloudswing, but you do need to have and intermediate to advanced level in at least one other kind of aerials. You need to be able to do at least 3 pull ups, leg lifts and pull overs and be able to invert from straight arms.
The double cloudswing are 2 ropes that hang in a U-shape under each other in which you can drop from one to another, knot them trough each other and swing. This is a technique that not a lot of people do, so Saar created all of her own vocabulary. We will do a range of techniques; balances, dynamic, drops and knots. We will also explore to find some new movement of your own.
Saar started doing circus when she was 5 years old at Circus Elleboog, a youth circus in Amsterdam. When she was 18 she traveled around New Zealand for half a year and ended up with a circus family, which made her decide to audition for a circus school. She studied at the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg, the Netherlands from which she graduated in 2012 specialized in triple cloud swing and vertical dance. Since that she has participated in a documentary about contemporary circus, “Grazing the Sky” by Horacio Alcala. She taught and performed at aerial dance festivals in Ireland, France, the UK, Costa Rica, Houston TX and Dallas TX. Last year she has been working as a rigger, stage manager and performer with the Acrobatic Conundrum for their shows “Love and Gravity”, “Volume 5” and “Fig Tree Walzes”.
